2018 Notice to Residents:

Did you know?????
  1. Alba City Ordinance #75-7-1 reads that the property owner or tenant is responsible to keep their area clean of weeds, grass and brush, all the way to the curb line or the edge of the pavement including the ditch?????
  2. You may not put rocks, bricks, dirt, leaves/grass clippings, drywall, insulation, lumber, shingles, batteries, tires, animal carcasses, furniture, swimming pools, electronics, fish carcasses, food from freezer, or ashes in your polycart?????
  3. That “flushable wipes” are not biodegradable?????
  4. That “grease” is not biodegradable?????
  5. That those pipes that stick up out of the ground close to your house or by the road are sewer cleanouts for your house?????
  6. Your water meter box should have a lid on it?????

With all the above information, PLEASE KEEP YOUR AREA CLEAN ALL THE WAY TO THE EDGE OF THE PAVEMENT……………PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY OF THE ITEMS LISTED IN YOUR POLYCART………………..PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH THE FLUSHABLE WIPES……………….AND PLEASE DO NOT POUR GREASE DOWN YOUR DRAIN!.......................AND PLEASE DO NOT RUN OVER OR BREAK THOSE CLEANOUTS!................AND PLEASE DO NOT RUN OVER OR BREAK THE METER BOX LID!

Billing cycle for water, sewer and garbage: *Bills mailed on or around the 20th of each month, *Bills due on or before the 10th of the following month, *Cut-off notices mailed out on or around the 11th of each month notifying customers of cut-off day on or around the 16th of each month, *Reconnect fee is $50.00 unless after work hours and then it’s $75.00, *If you don’t get a bill in the mail around the 20th of the month, then it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to call us!

Customers that flush anything that is not wastewater and/or pour grease down their drains are causing major problems for themselves and for the City. Your service lines and the City’s mains are not designed to handle these products. If you are doing this, PLEASE STOP IMMEDIATELY! If you experience a blockage or backup, it is your responsibility to have a plumber come out, not call the City for assistance. The City is striving to improve their infrastructure as it is deemed necessary. Please help us by NOT putting items in the system that don’t belong.

If your sewer cleanout gets broken or your meter box and/or lid gets broken…the City didn’t do it! You or someone at your location did! If your cleanout doesn’t have a cap on it, then rainwater and debris is allowed to enter. That is really not good for the City’s sewer mains. You will be charged when the City has to come out and replace/repair either of these items.

Thank you
